Little Miss is 2 months old today! She had a growth spurt last week, so it will definitely be interesting to see what she weighs at her 2 month appointment on Wednesday!
I thought I would list all the new and wonderful things Miss Halle has taught me over the last 2 months:
1. Sleep is IMPORTANT; however, it is scarce most of the time. 6 hours straight is a heaven sent!
2. The first couple weeks of caring for a newborn are FREAKING hard. I knew it wouldn't be easy but hormones paired with minimal sleep paired with a crying baby is enough to get any committed to the looney bin.
3. Poop is exciting! I never would have guessed that a common topic of conversations between Arce and I would be about Halle's poop. From whether or not the bomb was dropped today to the color and consistency. And there are often times when I get excited that she poops.
4. Showering is a luxury. I have mastered the 3 minute shower. Thank god for dry shampoo and pony tails. I am fully capable of reaching my legs and shaving them now; however, who has the time. I cherish my weekend 10 minute showers now.
5. She may only weigh 10 pounds but she makes the rules. Our life style has definitely slowed down a ton since the little girl has gotten here but we have also had to turn down an event or two because Lil Miss was having a bad day.
6. When baby is sad, Mommy is sad. I have gotten so much better at tolerating her crying; however, when Halle has a BAD day, not only is she drained but so am I. This happened yesterday morning, we had visited with some friends the night before and she became very over stimulated but the symptoms didn't show up until we got home. She hardly slept and cried all morning. She was back to normal by noon but I took the rest of the day to recover. It's crazy how much I can feel her pain.
7. Anything she does is cute, except crying and not sleeping. Those aren't cute but pretty much everything else she does makes me laugh. Who knew spit bubbles could look so good.
8. Arce and I are now second rate citizens in our own home. Along the same lines of her making the rules, Arce and I are no longer allowed to think of ourselves. As much as we would like to lose our post baby weight right this instant, we have to work around what the baby needs. NOW I know why they only say to gain 25lbs, it's impossible to do anything but take care of the baby for the first couple months.
9. Even though she doesn't have words doesn't mean she can't yell at us. Halle is already yelling at Arce and I. She is going to be a very feisty teenager. What goes around comes around. My Mom and Dad are going to have many instances of "Hmmm that sounds familiar" I am sure.
10. Naps are the most efficient hour of the day ((If that..)) When Halle goes down for a nap a list runs through my head. What should I do? Shower, eat, fold laundry, sweep the floor. When I am able to get 3 things done during a nap. It is a good day.
We have learned so much over the last 2 months, I can only imagine what is to come.
Here are some out takes from Halle's 2 months photos:

Funny Faces..
The variation of faces in Miss Halle
Her "Mom, let me talk!!" face
Her "Seriously..get that thing outta my face before I scream.." face.
Her "Did Papi just fart?!" face.
Her "Yaaaawwwn, you bore me" face. Her "Nah nah nah nah nah" face.
She just keeps getting cuter and cuter and makes the best faces!
It has finally hit me that I have to go back to work...Ugh. I can already tell it is going to be WAY harder than I thought. I still have 5 weeks but I am dreading it already. I am nervous about leaving her with someone other than me, I don't know what I am doing half the time but I still don't want her with any one else. I am nervous about missing her. I miss her when she takes long naps sometimes. I worry about all the factors that are out of my control when I am not within arms reach of her. I completely trust the woman who will be taking care of her. She took care of my bosses daughter at the same age and did a great job and my boss absolutely loves her. I really liked her when I met her as well. It is not a personal thing because honestly I wouldn't pick a different daycare. I would be worried no matter what. I know that she will be fine but I don't want to give her up. Ah. I am super nervous about this. At least I have 5 weeks to prepare?! :)

Independence Day...
Halle had a busy Fourth of July weekend but she was dressed to the nines the whole time. She had two super cute outfits one from her Great Nana Weil and one from her Auntie Angie! Also, Halle is 6 weeks today so I added a few other recent photos. She is changing and growing so much all the time. She has recently found her voice and is cooing and talking to us all the time. She felt the urge to "chat" this morning at 5 am ;)
Thank you Great Nana!
Thank you Auntie Angie!

3 Weeks
3 weeks ago today Miss Halle J entered this world. Feels like we have known her for way longer than 3 weeks but it also feels like the whirl wind just happened yesterday.
The last 3 weeks have been filled with lots of feedings, naps, dirty diapers and visits by our wonderful family and friends. Arce was able to be home with us for the first two weeks, which was amazing, I definitely couldn't have done it without him. He played the lotto everyday he was off in hopes of getting the lucky ticket and never having to return to work but we haven't gotten that lucky yet!
We have had two doctors appointments so far and Miss Halle is back to her birth weight and then some. This girl likes to eat :).
We are just amazed at how much she has changed in 3 weeks! I will update more again soon!

Halle's arrival....
OK so here is the play by play.
So after my 38 week appointment on May 20th, I started to get Braxton Hicks for the first time in my pregnancy. I got super excited and started walking a lot! The braxton hicks kept up for all of Friday. Then Saturday I woke up to NOTHING. Super bummed.
On Monday May 23rd- I woke up feeling energetic and wanted to go to Walmart to stock up on some snacks for after Halle arrived. 5 minutes into being at Walmart ((bad choice for so many reasons ;) )) my vision got spotty and I started to get a headache. I checked out immediately and went home and took my blood pressure. My BP was high so I called the nurse and she told me to lay down. I did and my BP went down again. She told me I would have to really just relax for the rest of my pregnancy. Again super bummed.
I woke up on Tuesday May 24th-morning with a ton of pelvic pressure. Around 9:30-10 am I started feeling what I thought were contractions. I started timing them and they were like 7 min apart. Arce decided he needed to come home from work. He came home around 1 pm. My contractions were about 4 min apart at this point and I was having difficulty feeling Halle move so I started to get stressed out. We decided to go to L&D just to be on the safe side.
They had me lay down in triage for an hour to monitor her and my contractions. Her heart beat was strong for an hour and my contractions were consistently 3-4 min apart. I got a cervical check and was only at a "soft" 1 cm and 85% effaced. They wouldn't admit me until I was 3 cm because lord only knew how long I would be at 1 cm.
They told us to go get some food and hopefully they would see us back either early in the am or sometime the next day. We decided to go to Ruby's literally across the street from the hospital. While we were at Ruby's my contractions felt like they got more intense. I had to gnarly contractions back to back. Right after that I felt a "gush". I decided I needed to go to the bathroom. In the bathroom, I wasn't completely sure what was happening. I went back and sat down to eat then felt it again and told Arce we gotta go, my water had broke! So less than a half hour later we were back at L&D. When we got back to labor and delivery the nurses looked at us like we were crazy. Luckily, we had an amazing triage nurse Penny and she took great care of us.
We got admitted to the hospital around 5 or 530pm on May 24th. Once my water broke my contractions intensified. Not only were they pretty strong but they were a good 1.5-2 min apart. Due to the lack of recovery time, I decided an epidural was something I needed in order to be able to push when the time came. Because my water broke on its own the doctors/nurses wanted to keep my cervical checks to a minimum secondary to increased risk for infections. So the nurse told me that I had pretty much let her know when I couldn’t bear it any more then they would check me and hopefully I would be at 4cm. I waited it out as long as I possibly could. Around 11pm or so I decided I needed to be checked. The nurse checked and said I was at a “soft” 2cm. BUMMER! The doctor came in and checked and said I was a “soft” 3cm but he could stretch me to a 4. Yep, I said stretch. That SUCKED big time. The doctor stretched me and inserted a pressure catheter ((to gauge the intensity of the contractions)). Worst 10 minutes of my entire labor. For some reason, whenever I moved, switched sides, went to the bathroom it triggered contractions. This stretching episode triggered like 10 contractions back to back and it was intense. Not to soon after my savior walked in...the anesthesiologist. He sat me up, did his thing and with in 10 minutes I was a different person. They started me on Pitocin to keep my labor moving. A few hours later, I could feel the pressure again. This pressure then turned into the urge to push. I pushed for about an hour and then was asked to stop pushing as the doctor was next door delivering another baby. I breathed through my contractions for a half hour and then the doctor came and about 20 minutes of more pushing later, Halle arrived. She started crying almost the minute her little head crowned. The minute we all heard her cry, the entire room (( Arce, me, my mom, mother-in-law and my Nanas)) started crying.
Overall, the labor was uneventful. I feel blessed to have had an “easy” delivery. I still can’t believe it all happened, I remember feeling like the day would never come. So happy to have our little girl here.
